One Small Step.. to completed invitations!

Invitation win tonight! Our wedding’s unofficial theme is black and tan. Like the beer! I keep picturing a “Sun never sets on the British Empire” vibe to the wedding but so far there isn’t too much I’m finding will fit that vibe. Our wedding is at Trolley Square. I thought it would be cool to find wrought iron lamps, cameos, Burberry plaid, etc.

I really wish we could have been coordinated enough to have the men rock this look:

Ok - Here is insight into my mind that over analyzes. The reason I haven't gone full out into this British theme is because it wasn't a particularly good time for the Irish. I want my Irish heritage resembled in the wedding which would lead to a historical dissonance that I can't overlook.

Anyways, tonight I went on a hunt for paper to line our envelopes and was worried I’d have to settle with damask but found black and white plaid that looks fairly good with our invites. I’ll show you them after they are assembled, hopefully this weekend. I’m worried about our color choice though. We have honey graham envelopes with the black and white plaid liner. Then the invitation envelope is coffee bean. It is a brown so dark it’s almost black. This could prove fashion faux pas but I’ve embraced the fact that our wedding colors are all shades of brown, metal colors and black. We started with black and tan and branched out in different directions from there. It’s not ideal but I’m OK with it.

Any other ideas for my British Imperialism wedding theme?
