My Favorite Homemade Christmas Present

I saw this on a list of gift ideas. You can purchase a Holly Golightly Sleep Mask for about $30 but I knew I could make my own version. This was basically the only gift that Lauren got to leave with since I have unfinished gifts yet to send her! I didn't have a pattern so I took a page of copy paper and just kept playing with a design until it resembled a sleep mask. The fit isn't perfect but I'm pretty satisfied since this is the first thing I've sewn with out a pattern. I bought some cellophane bags to make my bridesmaid gifts look packaged and I really like doing that now. So I decided to package this up for Lauren. It went in her stocking so it wasn't doubly packaged.

I have a lot of the fabric left as well as the gold trim which I would not recommend using if you wanted to make your own version. It's hard to see with the photo quality being so bad but the ends unravel which is why I decided to use hot glue instead of sewing the trim on. Done differently I would use more of a gold ribbon and sew it on. However - If any of our 6 readers out there would like one (for free) let me know. I don't know what else I would do with turquoise silk so I'd love an excuse to try this again.
